Art without borders
when the invisible becomes visible.
When Ben discovered his passion for painting, his vision was at about 9%. Despite the challenges, he found joy in expressing himself creatively and learning a variety of techniques. Ben's Art represents, on the one hand, art and the artistic freedom of expression, but also Ben's "art"—his character and his positive and encouraging approach to his challenges.
Today, Ben is 13 years old. A teenager like any other? Almost. His vision is now down to 2%, and new hobbies fill his limited free time. We don't know if there will be more pictures.
Ben's Art supported activities related to the rare disease "Alström Syndrome," from which Ben suffers. It's been an incredible journey, one that was entirely unexpected. So now is the time to say thank you for the tremendous support Ben has received over the past few years. Not only do Ben's paintings and art prints hang in homes and offices in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and the UK, but Ben and the Alström initiative have also received support they never imagined possible!

"Das Werk beeindruckt durch seine stille Präsenz - es schreit nicht, es flüstert...das besondere an diesem dreidimensionalen Objekt ist die Haptik. Es lässt sich nicht nur betrachten, sondern auch be- und ergreifen" Bundesjurorin Anika Preissler

About Ben

Ben is a completely normal, happy boy. With hobbies, dreams, and the vitality of a teenager. The fact that his vision is only at 2%—one of the symptoms of the rare disease "Alström Syndrome"—doesn't stop Ben from painting, skiing, playing the piano, practicing judo, or playing the drums. I guess we set our own limits.
